The best thing about running out of make-up is the feeling you get when you’re about to shop for new ones. Reading reviews online, testing and swatching in different stores, and getting recommendations from friends are crucial to me when I’m about to buy my next set of makeup. I’m leaning towards doing more natural looks this time, so lightweight, sheer but light-medium coverage, products were in mind. Check out my recent haul from the Rustan’s Beauty Source and find out which products I got!
As much as I love make-up, it’s definitely taken a toll on my skin because of how heavy I usually tend to put on. I decided to get some products from NARS that bring out a more natural look this time.
Clockwise: Laguna Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer, Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Get Off, Charlotte Gainsborough Hydrating Glow Tint in Fair
This Hydrating Glow Tint comes in four shades. Fair, Light, Medium, & Medium Dark. I chose Fair.
I applied a button-sized dollop on my hand and started to spread it, then I applied a thin layer down below because it actually spread way too easily than I’m used to. You can have a sheer-medium coverage with this product. I put on two layers just to make sure everything is nice and even.
I’ve actually been using this bronzing powder a lot since I got it. It has a matte finish compared to the other Laguna bronzer which has some shimmer. You can build it up with two to three layers. I’d use a good dense brush for this one, or you can press down a bit harder if you prefer an angled/bronzer brush.
I’ve always been a fan of these Velvet Matte Lip Pencils because of the variety of colors but its finish is its ultimate highlight. It’s easily applied and has this satin, non-sticky finish. I do wish it lasts a bit longer though. Get Off is a nice peachy blush color that’ll make my lips look natural but with a little pop of brightness.
Here’s how the products looked on me!
I loved how luminescent my skin was due to the sheer tint.
The bronzer is pretty amazing. It’s probably my favorite. I used it all over my face. It’s not as harsh as other bronzer shades, and I used it to contour my face.
Just added some brows, mascara, and eyeliner, then just set everything my current sheer powder. Voila! What do you think?
I’m also loving my beautiful brown disheveled hair thanks to my recent retouch at Design Studio Salon. I think it really goes well with my skin tone. (Or should I do something more playful with my hair?)
It actually looks better in person. I even got comments like, “You’re blooming” and “Your skin looks radiant. What’d you use?”
